I arrived at the Evens Residence on Friday July 29 to greet my bride Jill & all the ladies, as they were getting their hair & makeup done. We were all chatting & laughing, as more family started to arrive to give Jill hugs & well wishes before the festivities began. After Jill was finished with hair & makeup, her Mum went upstairs & brought down something very special & sentimental. In her hands was her veil she wore at her own Wedding, that Jill used to wear & take everywhere as a little girl. Tears started rolling down as she remembered this special accessory, noting “I just thought it was the most beautiful thing ever, so I took it everywhere.” which was so sweet! But the sentimental treasures didn’t stop there, Jill also wore the very shoes her mother wore on her wedding day all those years ago… & not very many brides can say that!
We arrived at Heritage Park to crowds of people in aw of our Bride, congratulating her as she walked through the entrance to meet James. We set up the first look at the Famous Five house & I couldn’t wait for these two to see each other! We ventured around the park before the ceremony & it was the perfect time of day as we had the entire park to ourselves! I had this vision in mind using the swing ride, so we snuck up to the platform to bring that vision to life. It was so fun & adventurous, & of course at Heritage Park every corner is a photo opportunity!
James & Jill were married in front of Burnside Ranch House with all their loved ones present. It was an emotional & beautiful thing to witness as these two protested their love & promises to one another, with not a dry eye to be seen. After introducing the new Mr & Mrs, we gathered for a TON of family photo’s, & with Jill’s organization skills we managed to photograph everyone in record time. We headed back to the reception where dinner was to be served right away, & then speeches soon to follow. These families are so wonderfully supportive & the speeches definitely got one over on me, as well as everyone else in the room! We ended the evening with a sweet dance shared by the happy couple & their parents, then the rest of the gang hit the dance floor!
Thank you both so much for including me in your special day & allowing me to photograph the beginning of your story. It’s been a joy getting to know you both & I wish you a wonderful life together!
