Tyler & Krystal were married at the top of a mountain this Summer in Lake Louise, & I was there to capture the entire day! I stayed the night in Banff with some relatives, so it was an easy drive up to meet my Bride & all her bridesmaids at the hotel. The girls had the room neat & tidy for me before I arrived, with everything laid out on the table – A photographers prayers answered! Ha! I photographed all of Krystal’s beautiful details & began documenting her getting ready… sneaking in a couple of her adorable daughter eating yogurt! & My second shooter Megan was able to go sneak in a few of Tyler getting ready too! Which we all know he loved 😉
Tyler & Krystal decided to do a first look there at the hotel in a beautiful little walkway they had out back. We set them up & got to photograph their sweet reveals…. & it was adorable! I’m always such an advocate for first looks! Sometimes it’s nice having this moment be just between the two of you & it helps get rid of all the nervousness! – plus you get 40% more photos! After the first look we all gathered & headed to the Ski Hill to start our INCREDIBLE ride up to the ceremony. This was my first time even setting foot on a ski hill, so riding the chairlift has always been something I’ve wanted to experience, & it’s one I will never forget. Talk about an an entrance for their guests too! I tried documenting as much as I could on the way up, but it was hard to turn away from the view!
We captured portraits before the ceremony, in a location I’m still dreaming about! With an open field to play in overlooking Lake Louise with the mountains & wild flowers surrounding us – SWOON! These images look like we had the entire hill to ourselves, but what you don’t see is the hundreds of tourists behind us watching & cheering haha! & Tyler & Krystal rocked each pose, even with the audience 😉 The ceremony was on the deck of Whitehorn Bistro & all their loved ones were there to witness. It was super symbolic with their children very involved, each one standing up with Mum & Dad & also taking part in the sand ceremony. Afterwards, all the guests gathered for some mingling & drinks, then it was time to head back down the chairlift to the reception!
I arrived down at the reception in utter panic, leaving my coat all the way up the mountain with my new glasses inside my pocket…. LOL thankfully the staff do a sweep of the restaurant before making their way down & a very kind waiter brought my jacket down, with my glasses still in my pocket unharmed. Phew – back to work! The reception space was so beautifully decorated, bringing the theme of the mountains inside. The best part for me personally? I ate my body weight in Mac & Cheese at dinner! YUM! I snuck Tyler & Krystal out at sunset in what deemed to be THEE perfect time to head out. The light was everything I hoped for, & I’m so happy that they trusted me when I demanded that we head out NOW! They played the fun “shoe game” afterwards using cute moustache & lip signs, & made it even more fun bringing their parents up to answer the same questions!
Thank you both for making this day so memorable for me. I enjoyed every aspect of your Wedding & not only was I doing a job I love more than anything – I got to check things off my bucket list while doing it. Your Wedding was amazing & every detail was admired. I wish you both nothing but the best with your 3 beautiful children & I hope to get you all in front of my lens again soon!
