I met Carly & Rob last year to talk all about their big day, & after driving up to Carly’s parents house to chat… it was only a matter of minutes before I fell in love with this couple! Carly is a grade 2 school teacher & Rob is from New Zealand.. so we immediately hit it off! Talk about the perfect fit with my grandmother being a school teacher & the fact that I was born in Australia! I couldn’t wait to tell my family that here in the middle of nowhere I would have a groom from New Zealand hahaha! The age old question “What the heck are you doing HERE?” came across by each other, & we both had the same answer: Love.
Rob proposed on their two year anniversary while they were in New Zealand visiting Rob’s family! He took Carly out for a fancy dinner & then drove to a hidden part of his hometown’s Omanu beach & popped the question! So sweet!
On January 3rd I headed out to Castor to meet the happy couple at the Nichols family farm, for my first session of 2016! We had some beautiful light, gorgeous trees, snowshoes & Canadian mittens! It was FREEZING but we bared the cold & managed to have fun while doing it…. with a quick warm up inside in-between shots 😛 ha!
Thank you both so much for being troopers out in the cold! I know it wasn’t easy but we had fun! You guys were such naturals in front of the camera & I so admired your love for each other through the lens. I can’t wait for your intimate green backyard Wedding set this July!
