Stettler Lifestyle Photographer :: Jett + Nos
I met Rae & Brenda the day of our session & I was immediately drawn to them & what they love most – horses. We spent hours together & I couldn’t help but be excited the entire time being up close & personal with such beautiful animals. Growing up in Calgary, I have actually never been on a horse! My grandparents owned horses when I was a kid but I have never actually rode one! & You could say after this session, I’m very inspired to ride š
Rae has been riding horses since she could pretty much walk. She road with the Halkirk Hicks Rodeo Club & hasĀ been crowned Big Valley Rodeo Queen & Coronation Pro Rodeo Princess! Her horse Nos is almost 10 years old & has been with Rae for 6 years now.Ā Brenda has also been riding since she was a little girl & rode with the Buffalo Lake Bandits. Her horse Jett is 12 years old & was quite happy to get Brenda soaking wet in Buffalo Lake during our session! Haha! Also, you might know Brenda fromĀ Pheasantback Photography! It’s such a huge honour photographing another photographer!
Both ladies are now Co-Captains on The Ladies Of Heartland, anĀ 8 Lady Drill Team. This is where Rae & Brenda’s beautiful friendship began… Rae has been with the team for 5 years & Brenda has been with the team for 4. In addition to the Drill Team both ladies enjoy trail rides to Ya Ha Tinda each year as well as working cattle together. They are as country as it gets! & I love it!
Thank you ladies for teaching me a thing or two about this country life I’ve grown to love. I look forward to hanging out with you guys outside of work & perhapsĀ one day joining you on a trail ride! š
