When you think of a wedding at the Fairmont Palliser in downtown Calgary, you think of a luxurious, formal and elegant celebration. Bailey and Anny’s wedding was just that – but add in their rich Chinese culture, fun games and A LOT of food!
There ceremony was held in the rich and historic Oak Room, which has been newly transformed and absolutely stunning. But before we could begin the ceremony, Anny’s bridesmaids put Bailey and his groomsmen through a series of games, as per chinese tradition to prove himself worthy of going to get his bride! After the funniest set of games I’ve ever seen, and the groomsmen begging for mercy for it all to end, giving up all the cash they had on them… Bailey passed the test and was able to get Anny, who was waiting in her bridal suite. They were led back down to begin the ceremony once Anny changed into her white dress, and lots of tears were shed during their personalized vows and exchanging of roses.
We wrapped up photos in record time to head back to Forbidden City where all their friends and family were waiting their arrival. During the 10 course meal we heard speeches from loved ones, played kissing games and ended the night with an epic dance party where Anny and her MOH got down!
It has been an absolute joy knowing you both and being part of planning your big day. I enjoyed every second with you on our journey together, and being immersed into your culture was an honour.
