Words fail me when describing how it felt to finally cross this off my bucket list. Don and Tara made this girl the happiest photographer EVER when they hired me to capture their incredible helicopter elopement in our picturesque rocky mountains. And I think showcasing this beautiful day right now, is a wonderful way to light inspiration for those couples who have decided to elope this year!

I arrived at Rockies Heli Canada in Nordegg Alberta where I met Ralph… and if you are a Departures fan like I am, you know it’s the exact Ralph who flew Scott and Justin in a helicopter on the show! He even said the same line “Do you know why helicopters fly backwards?…. because they can” HA! I was major fan-girling the entire time… no shame guys… it was awesome!

Ralph and his team flew us and their family to a beautiful spot completely off the grid, and the views were incredible! We had waterfalls and snowy mountain tops on one side, and this green gorgeous valley on the other. Don and Tara did a first look right off the helicopter, which was such a sweet moment. Then they had a simple yet teary ceremony, which ended in a celebratory toast and photo op! Thank you both for inviting me to share such a special moment with you and your loved ones. I felt so privileged to capture your elopement and I can’t thank you both enough for being so welcoming and comforting during that wild ride!
