I decided it would be fun to show you some of my own personal pictures of me & my family over the last 5-6 years, since we will FINALLY be having some professional family photo’s taken in a couple weeks by my good friend Raelene!
I can’t be the only photographer who doesn’t take their own family pictures, right? It just doesn’t work out!
We all know this was going to be a lengthy post because well, I AM a Photographer! & Yes, I take A LOT of pictures! Especially since having my babies. These are some of my most treasured memories… & Some of them I laughed pretty hard at coming across.
PS. This post is exactly what you think it will be… a plethora of images of my children. Sorry I’m not sorry!
Enjoy!
Lets start with one of the first pictures Matt + I ever took together at 19 years old. Who would have thought we’d both be here 5 years later with 2 kids & a Mortgage 😉
One of my first trips out to Castor Alberta, where Matt lived after he got a job at Paintearth Mine. Lots of travelling back & forth for those 2 years we were long distance!
My trip to Australia with one of my bestie’s Alyssa, back in 2009. The ONE thing I wanted to do while we were in Sydney was to climb the Harbour Bridge & it was a dream come true.
More adventures in Australia!
A picture of my twin brother Kyle & I the day he left for Australia for 6 months.
Matt & I at his cousins Wedding.
When I found out I was pregnant… I knew I was going to find out the gender the second I could! I really wanted to do something different though.. so I held a Gender Reveal Party! Which are now incredibly popular these days. I had a cake made at Co-op, where I worked, & then we invited our friends & family over to cut it! We all had NO idea what the gender was until we sliced it, & the inside was all blue 🙂
My ‘hospital stomach selfie’ after I endured an Appendectomy at 6 months pregnant with Carter…. (AKA The worst 5 weeks of my entire life!)
40 Weeks & 4 Days pregnant with Carter! Ready to POP! He came 4 days later 🙂
June 11, 2012 we became parents for the first time! I was in labour for 16 hours & ended up having an emergency c-section.

That brand new Mummy glow! Which quickly fades haha!

Matt in the Mine Rescue Competition in Spruce Grove last year. So proud <3
My Sister’s “Surprise” Wedding in 2012. Everyone thought they were coming to an engagement party but as they were walking through the doors they were handed the Wedding invitation which dated today. Best. Night. Ever.

This was the best Summer ever! I was sick & pregnant with Emma.. but we were outside almost everyday & it was amazing!!
Our “Facebook Announcement” to our family & friends that we were expecting again. Carter’s face is PRICELESS!
With Emma I wanted to throw another Gender Reveal Party… this time with Balloons in a box! I was SO excited to have a girl!

Some of my FAVOURITE images during my Free Spirit Session captured by Kaihla Tonai. I love these images with my whole heart.
Ps. She’s holding a Free Spirit Retreat!!! Find more info HERE!
This was our first official family photo after Emma was born. Matt + I just look exhausted… LOL which we were! Very much so.
Carter’s 2nd Birthday!
I love this picture because of the outfit Emma is wearing. When I was 9 Weeks pregnant I told everyone it was a girl (even though you can’t tell at 9 weeks) & that her name would be Emma. & Then I went shopping and bought this outfit when everybody told me not too. TA-DA!
Canada Day!
Testing out her new carseat!
So lucky <3
19 Months apart & I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Emma’s First Halloween… Carter was not happy hahaha
Celebrating our 4 year anniversary at the Calgary Stampede.. with no kids! Woohoo!
Matt + I attempted to take both kids swimming. Which resulted in two kids crying & throwing tantrums when we had to leave.
Emma’s 1st Birthday!
Taking Emma to Edmonton for the first time on one of our annual stays at the Fantasyland Hotel.
& This sums up our first Christmas with two kids…..
That is just a tiny look inside my life the last couple years. It’s an awesome feeling looking back at your memories & reliving things you forgot happened. I’ve treasured my memories so much more since becoming a Mum & a lot of these images beautify my walls. I encourage you to always take photographs. Always!
