This styled session had been a long time coming & something I’ve wanted to do for quite some time now. For those of you who don’t know exactly what a Styled Shoot is… it’s exactly what the name implies – something styled! The beauty of these styled shoots is that you have full control. With all general rules out the window, I first had to come up with a theme. & Still to this day I couldn’t tell you exactly what that is LOL! I know I wanted a vintage sweetheart table with fine china & nothing to match. I also know I wanted a ladder covered in moss & florals & a girl with a fishtail braid wearing a lace dress in front of it. We’ll go with Vintage Whimsical with a little Bridal Tea Party? Like I said, it was kind of everything because I simply just wanted it all. I did have a certain view in mind of what I wanted to photograph & the look I was going for…. I just didn’t quite know how to get all the things I needed to achieve these looks, so I started messaging vendors I love & admire. I definitely stared at my first message for a good 10 minutes, hesitating on clicking that send button. I’m my worst critic & I didn’t even consider myself good enough to be collaborating with all these talented individuals. But the response I got was so humbling.

I knew for a fact I wanted this shoot to be held outside at Edworthy Park in Calgary. The location I had in mind was in-between the trees & simply STUNNING! However, May Long weekend never fails & it poured all weekend. So we went with our plan B – a studio. Thankfully our new friends Erin & Andrew had theirs available super last minute & we booked the night before. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason & the studio worked out just beautifully 🙂

5 Months & countless visits/emails later, I could suddenly see everything coming together & it was such a dream come true! It was extremely difficult to try & plan things from so far away. I had to create a lot of mood boards on Pinterest & visualize this entire shoot mostly in my head. Especially since the look I was going for wasn’t exactly an everyday style…. with everything coming from all different directions! I think it’s safe to say those boards definitely made it easier on all of us haha!

To all the wonderful people who made all this possible…. the hundreds of times I’ve already thanked each & every one of you, is not nearly enough. So I’ll say it again & again & again – THANK YOU! I couldn’t speak more highly of you all & it was such an honour working alongside you. This styled shoot was a bit chaotic and all over the place because I wanted to do so many things!! So again, thank you for putting up with me all those months & keeping the vision on track. You all listened & executed exactly what I wanted & better yet, you made everything so much greater than I ever thought it could be.

Bringing you all together to help get these images from my head & onto my camera was such an overwhelmingly unreal feeling! IT’S AMAZING!! & I’m so grateful! Again, I wanna thank you guys for giving up your long weekend & helping me create some of my most beautiful imagery yet. I love these images so, so, so much & I owe it all to you.
