Alex & Alyssa, October 1, 2016

I first met Alex & Alyssa in Calgary for their engagement session, & while walking around Princes Island Park getting to know them, I instantly fell in love with them & just wanted to hangout more! We chatted & took photos for a good 2 hours & I honestly wish it was longer! Alex & Alyssa are one of the most down to earth & genuinely sweetest couples I have ever had the pleasure of knowing & working with. Not to mention they were super easy to photograph!

I arrived at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel to Alyssa & all her girls in robes, getting gorgeous! The room was in full force with hair & make up, & we even had some chocolate covered strawberries 🙂 Alyssa is quite the makeup wizard & it was cute watching her test out all her lipsticks on her hands for each bridesmaid to make their decision on a lip colour for the day. She was so relaxed & had everything so organized, just mellowing through the morning. Her Melissa Sweet gown was incredibly beautiful, full of pearl & beaded details, so I was in detail heaven photographing all her bits & pieces. She completed the look with KILLER black stilettos & even grabbed herself a pair of Kate Spade running shoes for later, which sparkled for days! While Alyssa was finishing up with her hair & makeup, her bridesmaids were cutting table numbers & helping finish up those last minute crafts before getting dressed. Fruit & Veggie trays were delivered & everyone was having a great time… & the day was just getting started!

They had decided to do a first look before the Ceremony, which I am SUCH an advocate for! I love first looks & having this moment be just between the two, & it’s always so sweet to witness. With the weather pending, we decided to head to the SAIT Parking Garage to capture it all. The smile on Alex’s face couldn’t have been any bigger when he turned around to see his beautiful bride, & Alyssa couldn’t have looked more radiant gawking at her handsome hubby. The Bridal Party soon arrived cheering & hollering.. & we got right down to portraits.

We headed to Valley Ridge Golf club for the nuptials & the theme of glamour was so spot on as the day progressed. The vows were sweet & traditional, both never taking their eyes off each other, & I’ve also never seen parents so proud <3 Then I snuck Alex & Alyssa around the golf course after the ‘I do’s’ for some quick sunset portraits! We headed  back in for some dinner, & they both were so considerate into ordering my own special meal off the kids menu LOL as I eat like a 9 year old boy 😛 We dove right into speeches that literally left the entire room in tears. These two are so unbelievably loved by everyone, even I had tears in my eyes hearing all the beautiful words they had to say. Then Alyssa’s step dad brought in some humor, gifting them a little tool kit noting Alex & Alyssa’s couldn’t fix a thing to safe their lives HAHA! When it came to their own speech, they went above & beyond saying something special about every single person in the room, which brought me all the feels… & more tears!

Alex & Alyssa, your day was full of so much emotion & wonderful memories, I felt like I was a guest & part of the family. Your guys’ planning was amazing & I’m just swooning over your style & colour palette! We couldn’t have asked for a better day & I’m absolutely honoured to have shared it with you.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Roy! Lets have a chicken fingers & fries dinner date soon 😉
