I’ve become quite obsessed with Styled Sessions – this being my third one for 2016 already, & there’s something so soul soothing about them. You brainstorm, design & have full control, which allows your creative mind to wonder with endless possibilities. It’s a chance for all us creatives who passionately love what we do, to come together & create magic.
I’ve wanted to shoot at Edworthy Park here in the perfectly lined trees for quite some time now. With Styled Sessions planned here & those sessions falling through because of mother nature… I was absolutely determined this time around & was about to battle anything that came my way – including the weather. & It was sure bumming me out all morning as we were setting up tarps & pulling out umbrellas while trying to keep things dry because well, blue tarps were definitely not the vision! We were running way behind schedule waiting for the rain to lighten, so we started to scramble getting this put together. Those who were there could tell by my facial expression how upset I was… but I was going to somehow make it work. & When you have an INCREDIBLE team who support you, things fall together. I just kept telling myself “Don’t ruin anything, just doing ruin anything” LOL & I say with pride, it was a success! My models travelled to be there & it was sooooooo cold. From the bottom of my heart, thank you guys so much for giving us these images to swoon over.
I envisioned a sweetheart table with elegant floral arrangements & gold accent colours to compliment each other. & To top it all off, a real couple who love each other. I wanted to do something I have never done before when it came to styling. I’m drawn to the boho, light floral, mix & match theme with a very rustic feel. So I wanted to do something more elegant & modern – still staying true to my look. For another set, I pictured some candles aligning the trees (so dreamy!) & a beautiful vintage piece in the middle of the pathway with a very classy & timeless twist. I saw a photograph of the David Tutera gown online & a sense of awe hit me like “thats the one!” which must be how women feel when they’ve found their own Wedding dress. Ladies, I totally get it.
When I see things I like, I *try* to make it all work together. It’s chaotic & sometimes overwhelming, but with the support of fellow creatives, you go for it whole heartedly. So, as planned, we did it ALL. Because I wanted it ALL. When it comes to Styled Sessions I’m more into creating beautiful images as oppose to telling a story. I’m just a sucker for all things pretty. This was the biggest styled shoot I’ve put on to date & I couldn’t have done it without these amazing vendors for contributing their time, talent & pieces to make it all happen. I was in pine tree heaven for 9 hours & by the end of the day Ashley & I could barely walk to our cars to head home. We laughed because we didn’t wanna cry & we had our men there helping us carry things to the car in agony hahaha but I think I can speak for the both of us & say it was all worth it. Feast your eyes on all the pretty!
