There literally is a first time for everything, & on July 3rd my heart was full as I hosted my FIRST EVER Photography Workshop. In my little town I wasn’t sure a workshop would be as successful as it would be in the city… so I was hesitant! I’m incredibly happy & blessed as to where this career has taken me & I’m so flattered that fellow creatives are reaching out to me to better their craft. As I started getting more & more emails about mentoring & with a big push from my friends & family, I decided to go for it whole heartedly! WHY I decided a workshop needed to happen right in the middle of Wedding Season, I’ll never know. But I put this all together with such an amazing team & before I knew it, 8 seats were sold in less than a month!
Instead of targeting a certain skill level of photographers, I wanted this to be for everyone. I wanted this to be a community workshop where we were all there to help one another & learn from each other. What ever it is you want to shoot, I want to help you produce the best images you can with the equipment you have.
I had an idea of what I wanted to teach at this workshop, with this being a CBP event I definitely wanted to talk more about what I do in my business & what has worked for me. So I put together a little book for each attendee to take home for something they could reference back too. & As a special treat, I put on an incredible Styled Shoot with some of Alberta’s top vendors. I’m in my happy place when I get to photograph pretty things & I was in heaven! We battled with the forever changing weather which made for some constant re-adjustments, but I think we made it all work!
Here’s a fun video I had my friend Taylor put together of our day! You can send her some love HERE!
I am filled with gratitude & I’m honoured to guide such an amazing & fun event. I have many, many people to thank for this & they all know who they are. I’d especially like to give a shoutout to Rebecca for rescuing my keys after I locked them in my car only 45 minutes into the workshop LOL! & To Cathy, Cody, Eva & Alicia for coming out & helping in every way you did – thank you!! It was a crazy day & I was nursing a 13hr Wedding from the day before, so I appreciate you all being so patient with me! This Workshop was a huge learning curve as I am an extreme introvert when it comes to teaching… so thank you all again for giving me this opportunity & for hanging out with me! I am so happy you all had a great time & have been posting all your beautiful pictures, showcasing what you all learned!
Here’s a peak at the workshop through my lens:
We had such a great time hanging out that afternoon that there was a ton of BTS opportunities to share on how our day unfolded. From locking my keys in my car, stuffing our faces with pizza & surviving the torrential downpour…. it was an incredible day & I feel so lucky to have shared it with these people. Again, thank you my fellow photogs, creatives & friends for sharing this experience with me <3
