I received a message from Krista just before Christmas regarding her Wedding in Calgary this Spring! Any Photographer would be super excited to work with this couple! I met up with them briefly during a quick trip into the city & I instantly connected with both her & Lincoln. Krista is super easy to talk too & Lincoln has a great sense of humour…. so we got right down to business!
They met in the Summer of 2009 where Lincoln had been singing lead vocals in a band called Bathing in Sanity. He was on a Western Canada tour & in July they played at The Stetson in Calgary where Krista had gone with a friend to watch them play. There is where she saw Lincoln on stage, this big bearded tattooed guy in his bare feet that she couldn’t keep her eyes off! After the bands had played everyone went outside behind the bar & thats where Krista & Lincoln met. They shared a common interest in each others tattoos & after a few days connected on Facebook.
Fast forward 5 years later where Lincoln & Krista had planned a trip to Orlando, Florida to go to Disney World. On March 3, 2014 in front of Cinderella’s castle, Lincoln got down on one knee & asked Krista to marry him. Krista excitedly said “yes!” in front of many well-wishing strangers. They even got Disney buttons with “Just Engaged” as keepsakes. SO cute! They’ve been knees deep in their Wedding planning process & are planning a Casual-Rustic-Glam Brunch, with pink, white and blue as their colors. They’ll also be incorporating burlap, lace & deer/antlers…. SWOOOOON!
On January 22nd we ventured all the way to Black Diamond to photograph their Engagement pictures at Marv’s Soda Shop – a dream come true for Lincoln! They laughed, picked out music together, thumb wrestled & lots of nose bops ensued. Seriously… this couple! It was such a neat experience & Marv let us invade the entire Diner to make these images special. We also got to enjoy some hotdogs & french fries from the menu & drink bottled coke the whole time. The best! Thank you both for making this session so memorable for me. Every time I think of Marv’s, this day will play in my mind & I’ll smile.
