I first saw an advertisement for Ice Castles on Facebook at the beginning of January… & my first thought was “I NEED A GIRL WITH A PRETTY DRESS & I NEED TO GET IN THERE ASAP” seriously… one look at this location & I was sold instantly. But before I went ahead & booked without any hesitation, I let myself sleep on it. The next day I kept browsing the website, finally messaging Support & they were so awesome & easy to work with! I gathered up all the information in regards to shooting/what was allowed, & within a few hours we cut a deal & I scheduled the private session!
Now what…
I had photographed Melissa in a creative shoot back in September & she fit the vision I had for this particular shoot perfectly.. so I sent her a message & with no questions asked she was on board! Of course the idea of putting Melissa in a blue gown & whipping her hair into a braid just like Elsa from Frozen played in my mind many times. It would be dead on, am I right? But I decided to go for a more pretty vintage approach. Melissa comes from a family of super talented women & her sister Eva generously contributed her time into making this amazing dress! I knew I wanted something Blush & this completely exceeded my expectations! Their mother Cathy did the finishing touches right before I picked Melissa up & I nearly died when I saw the finished garment.

Travis from Calyx Floral Design was the icing on the cake, coming all the way from Red Deer to meet us in Edmonton with an incredible bouquet & flower crown. I had helped photograph a Wedding back in October where Travis did all the flowers, which were ah-maz-ing! So I became a huge fan seeing her talent through my camera already! I sent her a message out of the blue & I’m so grateful for her kindness & for making everything come together so perfectly. I’m in awe of this industry & the talented women it brings into my life. This Styled Session was brainstormed, planned & completed in a matter of 2-3 weeks. These ladies dropped everything & came to my rescue with these insanely crazy last minute requests. It was so spontaneous that I never thought it would come together! & so perfectly? But it did. & It was a dream come true.
Thank you guys so, so much!
